航空自衛隊入間基地は1月9日、今月20日に予定していた入間航空祭を中止すると発表した。
1日に起きた令和6年能登半島地震に対する災害派遣活動を最優先するため。

 

 

入間基地によると、所属する中部航空警戒管制団の一員である輪島分屯基地（石川県輪島市）も、
被災しながら災害対応にあたっているといい、空自全体で任務を遂行していくとしている。

今年の入間航空祭では、空自のアクロバット飛行チーム「ブルーインパルス」が展示飛行を披露する予定だった。
同基地司令で中部航空警戒管制団司令も務める佐藤網夫空将補は「ブルーインパルスの飛来を楽しみにしていた方も多いと思いますが、
こうした事情につきご理解いただければと思います」とコメントした。

前回2022年は2019年以来3年ぶりに入間航空祭が開かれ、約2万7000人が訪れた。
ブルーインパルスの参加はなかったが、国産輸送機のC-2とC-1など13機が展示飛行を披露し、戦闘機のF-15JやF-2Aなど16機が展示された。
